New blog…
You could almost say…that I’m breaking this blogs virginity…
Did I go too far on that? Oh hell, we’re all over 21 beer drinkers here anyway ya?
Ok great, let’s get to this.
So I have this follower on Twitter right, her name is…well hell I don’t know her name but she goes by @FoodDrinkLove on Twitter. If you’re a fellow beer lover, follow her. She’s down in Austin and actually has a lot of good Tweets about the beer culture and happenings down there. Ok, that’s enough promoting you
So anywho, sometime last week the poor thing was in search of a good summer beer. Something that helps refresh you from those 105 degree Texas summer days, and doesn’t have the heaviness of a military MRE ration. Something that fits the tastes of summer, the colors you would expect, and the care that goes into creating a beer that’s brewed just for this time of year. We Tweeted back and forth about a few ideas here and there (hehe, that sounded dirty…Tweeted), yet she seemed unimpressed with her previous choice of brew that day.
Later that night, I was at Whole Foods here in Plano, Texas. One of the few places around here that actually stocks something a bit more exotic than “Natural Light”. *Shivers*, damn that stuff is nasty…
This was a usual beer run for me and that particular night I was craving some sort of Stout and yet this shining, frosty, oh so wonderful bottle of Sierra Nevada Summer Fest Lager was beaming right at me. Love the brewery, but had yet to try this specific brew of theirs. So this works out perfect, as I get to drink beer in the name of helping out a fellow Beerling (that’s my term by the way. I here by coin in. Use it and shall blog all over you).
Now again, as I stated in the about me, I AM NOT under any circumstances a “beer reviewer”. I do not claim to be the type of guy who can pin point flavors to the point of “dude, how the hell do you know what wet dog asshole taste like?” Sorry Gary Vaynerchuk, but you probably went to far by tasting dirty socks to broaden your palate.
. By the way, want to see awesome? Follow @garyvee on Twitter.
What I will do is drink a lot of beer, meet new people, travel the globe, and try new places and post those experiences. Do not think of me as a beer reviewer even though I post my thoughts on this beer, or any beer for that matter. If you want a beer reviewer, there are some great ones out there. This is not what I do. But if you have beer for me to try, send it on over I won’t complain.
Ok enough rambling.
So @FoodDrinkLove…this first post…this very post on which is sure to become the biggest, most popular, and most intense beer related blog that spans the worlds for millennium…this one’s for you.
Go grab a bottle or 6 pack of this stuff if you haven’t already tried it. It’s crisp, clean, has a refreshing bite to it, and like almost anything from the Sierra Nevada guys it seems to have more of a Pale Ale flair to it rather than a lager in my opinion. Though pick a better glass than I did, the rest of mine were in the wash after being horribly abused a few nights prior.
Damn That’s Good Beer Fellow Beerlings!
